It All Starts with an Idea

Welcome to Village of the Second Sunrise!

At Village of the Second Sunrise, we believe no mother should ever feel alone — and that every child deserves the chance to grow, thrive, and shine.

As a single mother myself, I know the challenges that come with raising children while facing adversity. From navigating unexpected bills to balancing school, work, and childcare, the weight can feel overwhelming. But I also know the power of community, compassion, and resilience.

That’s why I founded Village of the Second Sunrise: to create a space where parents don’t just survive, but truly flourish.

Our Mission

We empower, support, and uplift single parents and pregnant women facing hardship by building strong foundations for families. Our programs provide:

The Nest – mentorship, support circles, and life-skills workshops

The Launch – job readiness, digital literacy, and micro-business support

The Haven – emergency supplies, transportation, and community care

The Strong Start Fund – small grants for education, certifications, and new beginnings

The Horizon - Child Enrichment and Development – opportunities for children to learn, grow, and shine

Why “Village of the Second Sunrise”?

Every new sunrise carries hope — a chance to begin again, to find strength, and to imagine a brighter tomorrow. Our name reflects the belief that no matter what challenges a family has faced, it’s never too late for a fresh start.

How You Can Be Part of the Village

We’re just at the beginning of this journey, and your support makes all the difference. Here’s how you can help:

Spread the word – share our mission with your friends and community.

Join us – volunteer as a mentor, workshop leader, or community partner.

Give – support our crowdfunding campaign to help us launch pilot programs for families in need.

Together, we can build a world where every parent feels supported, every child has a strong start, and no family has to face hardship alone.

🌱 This is just the beginning. Thank you for being part of our Village.
